Customer Reviews:
5 out of 5 stars Great product, but don't follow the directions...   August 30, 2010
TTB
This stuff works great, as long as you don't follow the directions written on the back. This is the best way to achieve NO fog on a dive. First. Apply this stuff liberally over outside and inside of lens. Second. LET IT DRY COMPLETELY. Third. Don't wash it off, buff it off like you would wax on a car, with your t-shirt or a dry rag (don't get it wet). Finally, hold the mask up to the sun and make sure there aren't any streaks - if there are, keep buffing. Awesome stuff, and everyone on a recent dive trip to Cancun was asking to borrow my mask stuff, and stealing my technique. They all said they're buying it when they get home. Just follow the buff technique!

3 out of 5 stars No Clear Impression So Far   July 25, 2010

"The drops seem to do what they are supposed to, but it is too soon to tell how well or how long-lasting. Also, the instructions say that they work best with some other liquid that is used for preparation of new surfaces. Since I hadn't known about or ordered that, I don't know if the combination would have performed better than this product alone."

5 out of 5 stars Great Product   July 20, 2010

This worked extremely well on my goggles that I use for paintball. Even with physical exertion such as running the goggles never clouded once during the day that I had applied the Sea Drops. I also applied the solution to my sun glasses which tend to fog up. They have done wonders at preventing any fogging with them as well, even weeks later.

1 out of 5 stars "SEA DROPS IS NOT FOR USE ON SWIM GOGGLES"   July 18, 2010

I bought this product based on the favorable reviews to help defog lenses of swim goggles in our new pool. Unfortunately, this product really didn't seem to work well, lasting maybee 10 minutes before lenses would fog again. There are two techniques for applying the drops listed on the bottle, one to apply and rinse, the other to air dry and buff out...neither worked for me. After several tries, I went back to the bottle to figure out what I was doing incorrectly, and imagine my surprise when I saw in all bold letters "SEA DROPS IS NOT FOR USE ON SWIM GOGGLES". There is no explanation why it excludes swim goggles. My guess is the chlorine breaks the product down since it is so shot lived on the goggles. This was a disapointment since it isn't clear from the product description that it isn't for swim goggles.

5 out of 5 stars It works! (apparently, even with swim goggles)   July 12, 2010
Chad Varnadore (Salisbury, NC)
I bought this product to keep my swim goggles from fogging up, so I was a little disappionted when I read on the bottle that it was not for use with swim goggles, presumably because the concentration was too strong. Reading where another person here, said he/she used the solution with swim goggles too, despite the manufacturer's warning, I tried the posted recommendation of letting it dry first, polishing the lens, and then thoroughly flushing it with water before putting it on. And to my surprise, it worked extremely well. For swim goggles it only took a single drop per lens too, so this small bottle should last a long, long time.

Actually, at first I didn't flush the goggles after polishing them with a tissue, as the other poster had suggested, and I felt some slight eye irritation as a result. But rubbing water onto the lens with my finger, as if to remove any trace of the solution, not only eliminated the eye irritation but to my surprise the anti-fog still maintained its effectiveness. I wore the goggles for about 2.5 hours, straight, while swimming and playing in the pool with my niece and nephew the following day, and the solution never lost it's anti-fog effect. When I hit the lake the day after that, the original coat was still working pretty well, but I only stayed in the water for about 20-30 minutes this time, and by the time I got out it looked like it could benefit from another application.

Some people may be more sensitive than I am to whatever chemical(s) is used in the solution that can cause eye irritation, so I'm not advocating ignoring the manufacturer's recommendation, mind you - just sharing my experience, after several uses, to help corroborate what another poster said for anyone looking to try it. If I go blind in a years time, I'll know the probable cause.
